Rwampara MP involved in car accident

Rwampara Member of Parliament Mr Charles Ngabirano has been involved in road accident on Mbarara-Kabale Road and admitted at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.
His Political Assistant and brother, Mr Stephen Bebuuze said the accident happened on Thursday at around 10.30 am in Rukyekye, about six kilometers from Mbarara town.

“He is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He sustained four fractured ribs but he is out of danger,” Mr Bebuuze said Thursday evening.
The MP was heading to Rwampara district headquarters for the swearing in ceremony of the interim political leaders. Mr Bebuuze said Mr Ngabirano was traveling in a single cabin Land Cruiser which lost control and over turned.

He added that the other two occupants of the vehicle; Mr Wareen Rugogamu and the driver only identified as Mr Kaconco escaped with minor injuries. Rwizi Region Police Spokesperson Mr Samson Kasasira said Mr Ngabirano was first rushed to Mayanja Memorial Hospital for computed tomography (CT) scan and later transferred to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.
He added that Police are investigating the cause of the accident but preliminary investigations show that no other vehicle was involved.
Rukyekye is a flat section and the road is newly tarmacked.
