Scores reported dead in Jinja road accident

At least seven people are reported dead in a motor accident in Jinja District in eastern Uganda.
The accident is said to have occurred when a truck carrying sugar cane failed to climb a hill at Walumbe junction, Buwenge Town Council on Jinja - Kamuli road and rolled back before it overturned.
Eye witnesses told this reporter that as police and residents were trying to clear the truck Registration number UAK 344V off the road, another lorry registration number UAK 996Z, also loaded with sugar cane rammed into them.
The victims include a police officer who was directing traffic on the road.
The injured and the deceased have been taken to Buwenge health centre IV.
