Sheema. The office for the Woman Member of Parliament aspirant for Sheema District, Ms Jacklet Atuhaire, was last Saturday morning torched leaving property worth millions of shillings destroyed.
The office is located in Kabwohe Town. According to police the fire broke out at around 2.30 am and by press time it had not ascertained the cause for the fire outbreak.
“I got a call in the night at around 2.30am. We rushed to the scene but found residents had already put out the fire using water,” said Mr Charles Muhereza, the Sheema acting district police commander.

He identified some of the property destroyed as computers, estimated to be between 20 and 30 in number.
But Ms Atuhaire said the computers were 80 and that she had recently procured them from the United Kingdom to give to different groups in the constituency in her efforts to improve computer literacy skills among the locals.
She said even the declaration forms and other information she had wished to use as evidence that the recent NRM primariy elections in which she lost was rigged, was also destroyed.
She hinted at the possibility of political sabotage. She lost to the incumbent MP Rosemary Nyakikongoro. She alleged there were election malpractices and vowed to stand as an Independent candidate.
