Suspect leads police to Kyotera where he dumped girlfriend’s body

Security operatives lead Mr  Deo Mukisa Mukiibi (handcuffed) to Lubigi Swamp where he dumped the body of the toddler.

Deo Mukisa Mukiibi, who last week confessed to have killed his girlfriend and Elvis Kibuule, a five-year-old boy, in Wakiso District, at the weekend led police to Jongoza village, Kalisizo Town Council in Kyotera District, where he dumped the woman’s body.

This came after security operatives failed to trace the body of the woman in Lubigi Swamp near Kyengera Town in Wakiso District.

The suspect had earlier claimed to have dumped the body in the swamp. He later revealed that he had dumped the body in Kyengeza, Kyotera District.

Mukiibi led the Flying Squad team together with the police in Kalisizo to the exact area he had dumped the body.

But local leaders told the team that they had buried the body in the town council's cemetery after finding it on the roadside and no one claimed it.

The deceased who was identified as Zipra Namusoke was a mobile money agent at Cooper Complex in Kampala. She was last seen at her work place on January 4.

At Kalisizo Police Station, Namusoke’s auntie who identified herself as Ms Namutebi confirmed that Mukiibi was a known boyfriend of their daughter.

"This man [Mukiibi] was known to all sisters and brothers of Namusoke as the boyfriend and they were in love," she said.

Mr Badru Mujuzi, a resident in Kalisizo Town said that Mukiibi was born in the area and could have brought the body from Kampala and dumped in in the area.

It is, however, not clear how Mukiibi transported the body from Kampala to Kalisizo.

On Saturday, Namusoke's body was exhumed and taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital for a post-mortem as burial arrangements at her ancestral home at Mawotto Village in Mukono District began.
