Ronald Obangakene, a private security guard who allegedly confessed to murdering Dr Catherine Agaba, a doctor who was attached to International Hospital Kampala (IHK), was Wednesday remanded to Luzira Prison.
Obangakene, 24, was charged with murder and aggravated robbery, by Makindye Chief Magistrates court that was presided over by Grade Two Magistrate John Okipi.
The suspect who looked composed, was cautioned by Mr Okidi not to plead to the grave offenses which are only tried by the High Court.
After a 12 days of a fruitless search by her relatives and friends, on Easter Monday, Obangakene led detectives to a septic tank at GPS Apartments – Muyenga, where he had dumped Dr Agaba's body.
Dr Agaba lived at the apartments.
He reportedly confessed to detectives that he strangled Dr Agaba on April 12.
Prosecution led by Batson Baguma states that on the April 12 2019 at GPS apartments in Bukasa Muyenga - Makindye Division , Obangakene with malice aforethought strangled Dr Catherine Agaba and robbed her of a mobile phone, a gas cooker , a flat screen TV , a home theatre and other utensils.
He will be reproduced in court on May 13.
