Two sisters use hoe to kill their father

KABALE-Police are searching for two sisters who allegedly killed their father.

Stanisilus Turyatemba, 65, was killed on Sunday night by his daughters aged 16 and 18.

Kigezi Region Police Spokesman, Mr Elly Maate said that the suspects’ names have been withheld to avoid jeopardising investigations.

He, however, said they are residents of Kabindi Cell, Kafunjo Parish in Kabale District.

Mr Maate said Turyatemba met his doom after a misunderstanding with his daughters on Sunday night at about 10pm on returning home from a bar.

The daughters allegedly used a piece of metal and a hoe to hit him on the head and other parts of the body after accusing him of assaulting one of them.

Mr Maate said Turyatemba’s body was recovered on Monday morning by relatives and neighbours.

His son, a one Lazario Turinawe has been arrested after being suspected of helping the suspects to escape.

Buhara Sub-county Chairman, Mr Joseph Baryamujura said on Tuesday that Turyatemba separated with the mother of the suspects about two months ago.

The suspects, according to Mr Baryamujuta, have been asking him allow their mother return home.
