The UPDF will recruit 4,000 in an exercise that is slated to run from December 27, 2019 to January 5, 2020.
Army spokesperson, Brig Richard Karemire said in a statement on Saturday that recruits should be between 18 and 30 years.
"Regular Recruits must be adult males and females between the age of 18-25 years and professionals between 18 and 30 years," he said.
He said the process is intended to replace thousands of soldiers who have retired.
"Regular recruits must possess a minimum formal education of Senior Four or Senior Six in sciences," he said.
Professionals, Brig Karemire said, must possess a degree or diploma in engineering, chemistry and medicine. He said teachers and those with vocational training stand a big change to get enrolled.
He said the recruits must be Ugandan citizens in possession of an Original National Identity Card.
Brig Karemire said they must be single with no children.
