Pentecostals must first be organised

The cleansing of the temple narrative tells of Jesus expelling the merchants and money changers from the temple. Similarly, as the contention on whether or not to regulate churches keeps coming up, Pentecostal church leaders should first put their house in order.

People have pointed fingers at some pastors claiming that they extract huge sums of money from them with a promise of receiving miracles yet the prophecies do not come to pass. Consequently, this paints a bad reputation and picture of Born-Again churches.

Therefore, there is an urgent need for the Born-Again church leaders to address this matter decisively. Sadly, many churches take the easy route by keeping silent on such issues believing that saying nothing is saying something. Church leaders should learn to speak out against all forms of evil without fear or favour. Discipline is not punishment, but it is a way of showing the reconciliation that Jesus gives us when we sin and fall off his path.

Self-discipline is another remedy the leaders can administer to themselves as long as they act within the confines of the law.
