Basketball: Phaneroo defends ICBC title

KAMPALA. Phaneroo successfully defended their title at seventh Inter- Church Basketball Coalition (ICBC) held at Nakasero Primary School.
ICBC is an annual tournament aimed at spreading the gospel through the platform of basketball and uniting various youth fellowships from different churches with its core values of discipline, discipleship and devotion. Four churches; Agape Baptist, All Saints Cathedral, Bugolobi Church of Resurrection and Phaneroo Ministries International, played on a round robin basis with the one with most points ending up as victors.

All games were exciting and tense and it took the last match to decide the champion. Both Bugolobi Church and Phaneroo had gone unbeaten but the latter clinched a nail biting finale finished 43-36 to take the title.

Rev Captain Gideon Mwesh of All Saints Cathedral, also the vision bearer of ICBC, thanked all teams for exhibiting great christian values. He also thanked Phaneroo for not only winning the tournament but also displaying great character and sportsmanship as he handed over the trophy to the Phaneroo vision bearer Apostle Grace Lubega.
