KAMPALA. Betway Power coach Arnold “Muchuda” Lando warned at the start of the season that it would take time for the team to gel following the additions of Syrus Kiviiri, Libe Makala and Samuel Agutu to their roster.
After a 3-4 start, the assessment seems accurate with Makala and Agutu having had little impact as the five-time champions suffered defeats against City Oilers, Warriors, JKL and UCU Canons.

But with fixtures against the other championship contenders completed, Power have a chance to not only increase cohesion but also put together a winning run to close out the first round.
They play a struggling KCCA side in the opening game at Lugogo this afternoon in a fixture that will be followed by games against Falcons, Kampala University and Ndejje University.
KCCA have made a slow start to the season and had recorded just one win in from their opening five fixtures before playing Falcons on Friday evening.

They are again unlikely to find it easy against a Power side led by Syrus Kiviiri who dropped 33 points in the win over Sharing Youth.
The guard has scored 137 points, the second highest in the division and is averaging 19.5 points since joining from rivals Warriors.
