KAMPALA. The six-time winners and reigning National Basketball League (NBL) champions City Oilers or Just Keep Living (JKL) will be celebrating at the end of their game at YMCA this evening.
The pair possess identical 4-2 records and will each be seeking to bounce back after suffering successive losses.
Elsewhere, the rest of the league should also be in celebratory mood after domestic basketball governing body Fuba and Uganda Breweries Limited under their Tusker Lite brand announced a shs300m, three-year extension.

“As Fuba on behalf of the Ugandan basketball fraternity, we are very pleased to be partnering with a premium brand on a long-term basis,” Fuba Vice President Marketing, Media and Publicity, Arnold Katabi, said at the function held at Uganda Olympic Committee offices yesterday.
The extension comes after the two parties initially announced a one year arrangement in December 2017 and also covered last season’s playoffs as well as involvement in the 3*3 Fuba tournaments. “This sponsorship is a reaffirmation of our faith in the National Basketball League and our desire to help the sport grow, while bringing friends together to enjoy fun moments, which is what our brand is really about,” Tusker Lite brand manager Cathy Twesigye said at the function.

Oilers still favourites
Back on court, Oilers will be favourites against JKL despite injury worries to several players.
“They’re getting treatment and getting better. In a few weeks they’ll all be fully fit. I think we’ll be fine I known our team. I know how we are playing now and what we can do. I can see that the teams we compete with, the teams that are vying for the championship they’re not just beating us easily, they’re working so hard to beat us so I think with a fully fit team and playing better we’ll be okay,” City Oilers coach Mandy Juruni said after Friday’s 68-66 loss to Warriors.
