Few could have anticipated UCU Canons and JKL Dolphins setting pace in the National Basketball League regular season.
But after the latest round of games not only are they doing so, they are actually showing little signs of slowing down.
UCU have particularly been impressive leading the pack with a 10-1 first round record that has since improved to 15-2 following Sunday’s 86-53 rout of Sharing Saints.

Using a 30-7 second quarter run, the Mukono University side led 45-23 at the half-way point to effectively end the game with the scoring largely spread among four players.
Isaiah Ater led with 17 points on 5-for-9 shooting from three-point range and the stylish Fayed Bbale adding 13 while Titus Lual and Jery Kayanga chipped in with 12 and 10 points respectively.

Two straight games
Sharing Saints have now lost two straight games after a three-game winning run as they slumped to 6-11 this season.
JKL Dolphins also continue riding high following up on their 85-77 win over Betway Power last week with a 63-57 win over Ndejje University.
It is now four straight wins for Henry Malinga’s charges who improved to 13-4 this season and their latest game sewn up by the end of the third period.

They held a 53-33 advantage going into the final period with the rejuvenated Brian Muramba top scoring with 23 points and 10 rebounds while captain Brian Namake added 20 priceless points to the cause as they secured victory.
