Uganda’s Frank Kiwalabye has vowed to stop Tanzanian Fadhili Chamile for the Universal Boxing Organisation-Africa bantamweight title at Muganzirwazza Complex, Katwe Sunday night.

Chamile has drawn all six of his 13 professional bouts, including his last three since December 2017 and Kiwalabye feels the duty to ensure he doesn’t end the year with victory.

Kiwalabye lost his first bout outside Uganda, a World Boxing Organisation Africa Bantamweight title duel against Ghana’s Joseph Agbeko in Aflao by unanimous decision in March 2018.

Back home, he won two in a row, before losing the World Boxing Council International Flyweight Title to Russian Mekhdi Abdurashedov in Grozny, Russia in April this year. Can he afford to lose another title shot? “No,” he answered confidently after yesterday’s training at Cooper Complex.

“Since I lost that bout in Russia, I resumed consistent training to prepare for another huge opportunity. I can’t wait.”
Kiwalabye, 27, has respect for his 23-year old opponent, “I know he’s a strong fighter, but this is what I have been preparing for,” he said.

Since his pro debut in July 2012, Kiwalabye, aka Black Fire, has won 17 [13KOs] and lost twice. He is eager for a 14th KO: “I don’t want to finish the rounds with him.” Exactly: “I want to stop him in the sixth round.”
Kiwalabye added that his style has been altered a bit thanks to two more trainers:

“Coach Abu Kimpi and Isaac Ssentuwa have immense experience and have helped me adopt new technics in addition to what I learnt from my longtime trainer Michael Kizza.”
The fight is organised by Kasta Promotions International and Uganda Sports Promotion.
