Trainer: latecomers could miss Kiwa’s knockout

Trainer Michael Kizza, has rallied fans to keep time to witness boxer Frank Kiwalabye ‘slaying’ Tanzanian Fadhili Chamile at Muganzirwazza Complex, Katwe tonight.

After 10 undercards, the two will trade leather in pursuit for the Universal Boxing Organisation-Africa bantamweight title and Kizza, who himself lost several title shots, said his fighter is in the finest shape for continental honours.

“Kiwa’s feeding is better and training has been boosted by my colleague Isaac Ssentuwa, who gathered experience from Japan,” said Kizza, who has trained Kiwalabye for over a decade.

Before mitt work in the Friday training, Kiwalabye did the treadmill for an hour but showed no signs of exhaustion.

“We are very angry since we lost that fight inRussia. We have to prove about that wasn’t a trend, just a one-off,” Kizza said after training at Centenary Park.

In March 2018, Kiwalabye was unbeaten in 15 pro fights [12 by stoppage] but lost the World Boxing Organisation-Africa Bantamweight title duel to Ghana’s Joseph Agbeko in Aflao by unanimous decision.

He won two on the trot in Kampala, before losing the World Boxing Council International Flyweight Title to Russian Mekhdi Abdurashedov in Grozny, Russia in April this year.

“Kiwa has improved his jab, and perfected his right hook and I assure you if it lands well, it might kill the opponent. So I appeal to our fans to keep time because latecomers could miss Kiwa’s KO.”

The fighter himself vowed to knock out Chamile in six rounds.
Chamile has drawn all six of his 13 professional bouts, including his last three since December 2017.

Kizza added that in every fight they have a message to send to the public: “This time expect a fight with flair made of precise and solid punches.”
