Uganda fight to remain alive against Singapore

Uganda will be looking to play a perfect game against Singapore, today, as they look to bounce back into contention on Day Seven of the on-going International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cricket League (WCL) Division III tournament in Oman.
The Cricket Cranes engage an outfit from the land of that gifted planet earth with mythically its strongest man ever in Badang with a somewhat tattered record having won just one rubber in three outings.
Coach Steve Tikolo and his men know this is their last chance saloon if they’re to remain with any interest and mathematical chance in the tournament whose top two finishers will progress to the coveted Division II. Despite training for six months in preparation for this tournament, Uganda’s game hasn’t come together as Tikolo would have wanted at this showpiece.

Batting inconsistence
The batting showed some flashes of brilliance in the win against Denmark but crumbled under immense pressure against United States of America (USA) and Kenya.
Now against Singapore, Tikolo has tasked his team to show more resolve and play a ‘perfect game’.
“I want the team to play a perfect game. If we do so then everything will fall into place automatically,” said the legendary Kenyan tactician who represented his home country in five ICC World Cups.
“I still believe in my players to deliver and I want the team to remain calm. We must not panic. I still look to rally the boys together. You never know what will happen after our remaining two games. I know the chips are low but we have to pick up ourselves and start again.”
Teenage opening bowling sensation Janak Prakash alongside Singapore’s trio of seasoned campaigners Arjun Mutreja, Chetan Suryawanshi and Anish Paraam will want to show that they have come of age since May 2017 in Entebbe when Uganda defeated them by 66 runs.
Uganda scored 217 runs for the loss of 9 wickets with Arnold Otwani scoring 47 runs then and Tikolo will demand for more of the same as the Cricket Cranes play for survival in search for their second victory.
