With a target of 87 runs to win, Jinja SS’ patiently went about their innings with Hope Mbeiza finishing not out, with 29 runs off 42 balls, while Susan Kakai contributed 27* off as many balls to help their side to victory within 18 overs.
In Entebbe, Aziz Damani banked on their star player Immaculate Nakisuyi’s golden arm. The Female Cricketer of the Year prized out six of KICC’s 10 wickets to help Aziz Damani defend their set target of 99.
Kenyan imports Sarah Bhakita (28*), Margaret Banja (20) and Stephanie Nampiina (18*) had contributed handsomely with only Franklyn Najjumba (2/18) and Mildred Anyigo (1/11) providing the brakes. KICC could only chase until 53 runs for 9 in 20 overs.
