On Saturday, Rukundo emerged the best player at a tournament for the second time in 2018 after he floored a field of 75 players to win the Christmas Social Golf Day at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort in Kigo.

KAMPALA. Paul Rukundo is turning out more than an ordinary golfer.
His trophy cabinet space is diminishing fast as more and more silverware arrives, only two years after starting the game of swing.

On Saturday, Rukundo emerged the best player at a tournament for the second time in 2018 after he floored a field of 75 players to win the Christmas Social Golf Day at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort in Kigo.

Playing off handicap 10, Rukundo returned 66 nett to leave the ensuing pack in his wake on the water-filled par-72 course.
“It was good,” Rukundo began to speak as jazz saxophonist Michael Kitanda entertained guests at the event bankrolled by Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa directors, Pinnacle Security and Master Power Systems.

“This is my best score in a competition at this handicap,” Rukundo offered after adding to his Netherlands Business Golf Cup win at Uganda Golf Club back in June.

His stand-out score had been influenced by his company on arguably East and Central Africa’s sole PGA-standard course.
“I played with the best; Uganda Open champion Ronald Otile and Daniel Baguma who are headed to USA. We started off well and so I had to pull up my socks,” Rukundo narrated.

For organisers at Kigo, the Social Day is an early step into 2019.
