Kampala. When he strides into the clubhouse at Uganda Golf Club (UGC) in Kitante, tournament John Mwalimu carries a swagger of late.
And granted after the Tusker Malt Golf Series teed-off in desired fashion at UGC on October 12.
Mwalimu is confident that the seven-event competition across 17 weeks will hit the pinnacle of golf at the six courses.
“We are doing well so far,” a smiling Mwalimu stated after unveiling a new partner in Let’s Go Travel.
In partnership with Ethiopia Airlines, the travel company is set to take the best players from this Tusker Golf Tour for a fully-paid trip to the Pattaya, Thailand.
“We are very excited for partnering with Tusker and golf,” Let’s Go’s managing director Joan Kantu told Daily Monitor during the press briefing.
Best golf experience
“We could never ask anything better than that as we near Christmas time as it is a giveaway season,” Kantu said.
“We are ready to give the best golfers the best experience,” she spoke of the package that will include tickets, accommodation, transfers, caddie and the green fees for golf in Pattaya.
According to Mwalimu, the winning golfers (best male and female individuals and best male and female teams) must have featured in at least five of the seven events.
The second event comes up at Tooro Golf Club on Saturday and here, the professionals will compete for the first time on the Tour in a battle for a Shs50m kitty.
