Toyota joins UGC to bid farewell to Bagabo

KAMPALA. Joseph Bagabo will bow out as Uganda Golf Club (UGC) captain after serving for two years.
He will be ‘thanked’ in the customary way at the annual UGC Captain’s Prize event at the par-72 course on Saturday.
Bagabo, who took over from Prof. Anthony Kerali in 2017, has played his part.
“He’s done a very good job in terms of making changes at UGC,” said UGC competitions secretary Arthur Kiwanuka.
Kiwanuka yesterday announced the Captain’s Prize is financed by multinational automotive manufacturer Toyota.

Final tournament
“Toyota joined us late yesterday (Wednesday),” stated Kiwanuka. “They are paying for the whole experience and giving us money. This is the last tournaments that Mr Bagabo will be overseeing.” The tournament set to be played in stableford format has already attracted 240 entries through registration at UGC, online and WhatsApp.
“There is a possibility that we will have a Toyota car for the hole-in-one prize on par-3 Hole No.9”, added Kiwanuka.
Contrary to previous editions, the professionals won’t play for a kitty here.
“We did not secure sponsors the professionals.”
