The letter further states that the MX8 event organised by Smoc was the only event on the FMU calendar on November 25th.

However Jeff Kabagambe, the FMU Vice President technical, insisted that the event had insurance cover. He also revealed that the FMU lawyers are handling the matter. It was the fifth incident in the past 12 months involving rally cars and fans during sprints.

Last year at Festino Cite Mukono, during the Boxing Day sprint, a fan was knocked down. This was followed by an incident in Iganga involving Kephar in unsanctioned sprint.

Then during the UMC Challenge Rally in Fort Portal, yet again a car driven by Sam Watendwa knocked marshals and fans at Boma grounds.
