Garuga event to determine MX champions in four categories

Fierce competition is expected in four categories during the Mountain Dew MX Championship at Victoria Race Track Garuga on Sunday.

Riders in 50cc juniors, 50cc seniors, 65cc and 125cc will be going flat out for points.
Maxime Van Pee (MX1), Waleed Omar (85cc), Ismail Mukiibi (MX2) and Pieter Pelser (Vets class) have already sealed champions in their respective classes the battle is going to be in the two classes.

With a new upgrade on the track, new jumps and other obstacles will give riders a new challenge. In 50cc juniors, championship leader Ashraf Mbabazi will try to seal ahead of rival Jonathan Katende.

The usual suspects in MX50 senior, William Blick Jr, Migual Katende are joined by Pascal Kasozi in a three way battle. Blick Jr is strong favourite to carry the day. Gift Ssebuguzi who upgraded to 65cc is favourite for the title despite the challenge of Kreidah Nsubuga while Wazir Omar and Fortune Ssentamu will be the main attraction in 125cc.
Ssentamu, who upgraded from MX85cc will be all out to clinch his maiden title in the category.
The category will have a new champion as Wazir and Sentamu are separated by 52 points. “We choose riding in the reverse direction as the riders had got used to the track for so long,” Blick Jr said of the new track changes.

On the same day drivers will have a shake down a head of the final NRC championship.
