Lumala, Rajiv for Kapeka Autocross

What you need to know:

  • Yasin Nasser (Subaru GVB), Hassan Alwi (Subaru N14) and Christakis Fitidis (Mitsubishi Evo X) are the other drivers who have shown interest in the weekend event. Helena Alum, the Clerk of the Course said that cars will make two runs each.

The third round of the Autocross championship takes place at the newly constructed 3.25km track in Kapeka, Luweero this weekend.

Legendry Moses Lumala, two time National Rally Champion (1999, 2003) in Mitsubishi Evo IX is expected to be among the competitors.

Lumala will be participating in the Autocross event for the first time. This season he has driven as a route opener on the opening rounds of National Rally Championship (NRC): Mbarara Rally, SMC Rally in Masaka the CMC Rally in Mukono.

Also on parade in Kapeka is Rajiv Ruparelia in VW Polo Proton keen to build on his victory in the FMU Autocross event in Kayunga in June. In Kayunga, Rajiv came out top against three national champions Ponsiano Lwakataka, Ronald Ssebuguzi and Arthur Blick Jr in that order.

The win also put the Rajiv Rally (RR) Team driver in strong position for the Autocross championship. He is currently four points behind leader Jonas Kansime in Mitsubishi Evo 8.

Alum also said the drivers will be a new track which will make the outcome unpredictable. The event will also have motocross.
