Kampala- Uganda’s progress in motocross is no surprise to Maximevan Pee the team captain.

This was after they boys put rivals Kenya under the carpet during the first leg of the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) Africa Central Africa MX Challenge at Uganda Sports Arena Busiika over the weekend. Uganda collected 1,395 points while Kenya managed only 252.

Maxime, who won the MX1 class was left speechless after his team won all but one class. It was the first time in the history of the annual event for such a feat to happen.

“It shows how far we have come from. Kenya used to come here and beat us but now they find it difficult,” Maxime said.
“We even managed to beat them at their own backyard last December.”

Maxime cannot wait for the Africa MX Championship which will be hosted here next August.

“Every time the level of our riders especially the young ones is improving and its gives hope.”

Once again, the Orland siblings Alon, Stav and Aviv were the stars of the show winning all their three heats in MX65, MX85 and MX125, respectively. Maxime (MX1) and William Blick Jr in MX50 were the other riders to win all their heats. Roulf Kihara, Kenya’s team captain, was also overjoyed by the team’s performance. Kenya fielded only 11 riders. Kenya last won the regional title in 2014 when they hosted it.
