Maxime hoping for ‘Lady Luck’ at Garuga MX event

KAMPALA. Arthur Blick Jr won his first of 10 national MX1 titles in 1999, a year after the formation of the Speed Motorsports Club (Smoc). Blick Jr, William Blick, UOC president and Denis Pule were the founders.

Twenty years on, Blick Jr is on the verge of winning his 11th title when the seventh round of the Mountain Dew MX Championship at Victoria Race Track Garuga today.

Points race
At the same event, drivers will be competing for points during the 2nd FMU Sprint championship.
Some riders in different categories are looking at the penultimate event on MX calendar to clinch the title. But Maxime van Pee, winners of the title for the past three years wants to prolong the MX1 title to be decided on the final event.

“I will give everything to win today and hope for the best. The title is not in my hands,” Maxime who is also Team Uganda captain told the Sunday Monitor.
Earlier in the week Blick Jr said his equation is simple to finish second and the title is his.
