KAMPALA- It’s less than 14 kilometers but competitive Section 3- Nammere (13.66km), has drivers worried as Day Two of the CMC Challenge Rally takes center stage this morning.

The section like the other two will be repeated three times.
Rogers Sirwomu, the co-driver for Musa Kabega in Evo IX, has gone on to predict that whoever negotiates the 40.98km with good times will have a chance of winning the event.

“The section has the mixture of rocks, tea plantation with narrow roads and a stream,” Sirwomu told the Sunday Monitor.
“A driver has to be cautious any slight mistake and lack of concentration could in disaster.”

Arthur Blick Jr, in a Shell Helix -sponsored Mitsubishi Evo X expressed similar views about the section. “You have stay focused.Any wrong turn you lose a lot of time and means you will be doing a catch-up job.” He went on and said that it has a combination of wet areas as springs pass through the section, rocks, maize and tea plantations among others.

Calming the nerves
However, David Nsobya, the clerk of the course has played down the danger of the section.
“The section is not as bad as drivers say. Yes it’s challenging and crews need total concentration,” Nsobya said.
“We went through on Thursday while it was raining. The stream is passable.”
Today the drivers will cover 120.07km spread over nine Competitive Sections.
