Battle for Autocross supremacy in Kapeeka

A record of 30 drivers will take part in the fourth round of the National Autocross event which will take place at the China-Uganda Friendship Centre, Namunkekera in Kapeka, Luwero District today.
However, focus will be on three drivers Jonas Kansime (Evo VIII), Rajiv Ruparelia (VW Proto) and Ronald Ssebuguzi (Evo X), who are vying for this year’s championship.
Five points separate the trio with one more round. A win guarantees 10 points. But seasoned drivers Hassan Alwi (Suabru N14), Christakis Fitidis (Mitsubishi Evo X) and legendary Moses Lumala (Evo IX) will be out to spoil the party.
Helena Alum, the Clerk of the Course (CoC), event told the Sunday Monitor that for the first time they have a record entry and registration ends this morning ahead scrutineering.
She also said youngsters Ali Omar Yasser, Alistair Blick and Paddy Blick will drive Buggies.
The event will run under the theme ‘Create Top-of-Mind Awareness of NRIC’ among both Ugandans and foreigners and is sponsored by Napil Yele Investments International Ltd, Goodwill tiles, Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), Hug and MO Company, Liao Shen Industrial Park and Fasal.
