KAVC vows to defend title

Daniel Okwee, the Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) communication manager, said the team is very fit and in a good shape to defend the NSSF-KAVC International tournament.

“We are in a very good condition to defend the title because we have the 70 percent of the team that won it last and even the other 30 are the people who have come from our junior side and they are a very good compliment to that 70 percent.” Okwee said
KAVC won the 2018 tournament after defeating Rwanda’s Gisagara Volleyball Club 3-2.
This year’s tournament is scheduled to take place from August 2-4th, 2019 at Lugogo Indoor Arena and the Hockey Grounds.
International teams confirmed so far: Burundi; Amical, Bujumbura Uwezo Wa Ndani and Gacosmos Rukinzo. South Sudan; Rainbow Volleyball club and Jur

Rivers Flyers. Rwanda: Kirehe. Ethiopia; Madda Walabu University. Tanzania; Kigera Region Volleyball club, have confirmed their participation as
officials expect more confirmations from Rwanda due to their border status.
NSSF are sponsoring the tournament to the tune of Sh180m.
Last year they put in 130m.
