KAMPALA. Thirty media organisations will today compete among themselves during the sports gala which recognises the strong bond among practitioners.

The last event was held in 2014 with Vision Group emerging champions but the renewed challenge this year which is supported by Betway Uganda, will be a tough nut to crack as the emergency on new age media outlets has come with it enthusiastic practitioners, who could change the old order.

With games starting at 8am at Namboole’s outside arena, who are offering the stadium to partners they deem so important, will see the winner awarded a trophy courtesy of Mandela Group.

A line-up of games which look mouthwatering, will be punctuated by sprints (100 and 200 metres) as well as relays for men and women and the mixed relays. Another activity will be netball.

Legend Club will bring top notch entertainment while City Medicals is at hand for any first aid and rescue services.

To mark the return of the games, media owners, the Uganda Communications Commission, Public Relations Association of Uganda and the Uganda Advertising Association will feature as guest teams.

Tournament director Patrick Kanyomozi said: “This year’s gala will be different to past years. We have taken all wonderful aspects before, added entertainment and fun.”

The event is generously supported by Guinness, Betway, Nation Media Group, Legends Events & Hospitality, City Ambulance, Harris International, FUFA and Mandela National Stadium, Namboole. Action kicks off at 8am with checking of players.
