MBARARA. She Cranes captain Peace Proscovia has graduated with a Master of Science in Marketing at Loughborough Lightning University.

The shooting ace joined the Loughborough Lightning University four years ago when she started playing professional netball in the university side.

Proscovia had obtained a Diploma in Development Studies from Nkumba University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Uganda Christian University (UCU) before she left Uganda for London.

Folks in the Loughborough side went ahead to congratulate the netball star who left their side this year to look for greener pastures in Australian outfit Sunshine Coast Lightning.

“As a fresh, talented athlete, we have watched her grow into an inspiring, individual becoming a crowd favourite and a fantastic role model for young women and aspiring athletes, today she became a Master of Science in Marketing,” read a post at the Loughborough Lightning wall.
“We would like to wish her all the luck in the world as she begins her new adventure and can’t wait to see her back in England next summer, leading Uganda in the Netball World Cup,” they added.

“What a day full of surprises, I walked into my former university Loughborough elite athlete centre only to see myself on the wall of fame,” Proscovia wrote on her Facebook timeline.
“Thanks a lot Loughborough University and Loughborough lightning for the love and belief, it’s such a great honour,” she added.

Widely regarded as among the best shooters in the world, Proscovia headed to play for the Australian outfit and will as well further her studies by undertaking a PhD at the University of Sunshine Coast.

During her four years stint at Loughborough Lightning, Proscovia, assisted the side to two Super league trophies and a memorable Fast5 triumph. She was also named Player’s Player of the Season in 2017 and Golden Shooter at last season’s VNSL awards.
