Rowing suspend president

There is no federation without strife in the country and Uganda Rowing Association (URA) are not missing their slot amongst controversy.

The body suspended their head Denis Walusimbi Ssengendo for failure to honour federation major events.

Walusmbi did not even attend the federation’s Special General Assembly at Country Resort Lake in Garuga over the weekend.

“I sent out communication to everyone but I am disappointed that they didn’t bother to turn up,” URA general secretary Hamza Kahya told delegates.

It was at the assembly that a draft constitution was passed which ushered in Irene Kisule as the acting president. She was the vice-president administration.
Solomon Muwonge takes over as treasurer from Raymond Byabazaire, who resigned last year. Fredric Muhumuza and Farouk Baluku are the two executive members.
