Kampala. The long cry of training substandard courts by the She Cranes is soon ending, as starting May, the team will train from a standard AVRS Secondary School facility-one of the best sports grounds in Uganda located in Nakirebe.

This was revealed by Haji Yusuf Kamulegeya, the treasurer of Uganda Netball Federation (UNF).
The She Cranes started World Cup preparation from the MTN Arena in Lugogo before being pushed out to the nearby Hockey ground, because the arena was serving other sports disciplines.
This left players complaining of knee pain and the scorching sun during training.

Kamulegeya said that the facility has the best playing surface, and will not only protect the players from injuries but also give them some privacy as well as improve their training.
“A lot of people have been coming in to disturb players, comment about our training but now the team will be in a safe and secure place free from disturbance,” Kamulegeya told this paper.

He added that for the first weeks players will be fetched from Lugogo to their new training facility but in June they will enter residential at a hotel near this playground. This will most probably be Hajji Moses Kigongo’s Maya Nature Resort.
