Pirates run riot to end Warriors’ streak

KAMPALA. Champions Black Pirates in one of their better games of the Nile Special Premiership scored eight tries to end Dusupay Warriors` unbeaten run. Three quick tries in a space of 15 minutes left the hosts frozen and they never recovered.

Warriors were a shadow of themselves, leaving coach Ivan Markmort disappointed as he cut a dejected figure for larger spells of the game on the touch line. Missed tackles and poor decision making left Warriors up for the taking and Pirates pounced with Kevin Balagadde as man of the match.
“It was not a good performance at all. We never kept the ball, defence was poor and the unforced errors were plenty too. We have to improve starting with Monday`s session,” Markmot told Daily Monitor. Improvement is mandatory for Warriors with Betway Kobs and Hima Heathens next.

Table leaders Heathens missed out on stretching their lead after failing to earn a bonus point against Plascon Mongers at Kyadondo. Trevor Ochan and Aziz Khan got the tries while Chris Lubanga added two penalties for a 16-0 win. In the last game of the day, Kobs put up a strong second half performance to earn maximum points after leading Buffaloes 8-3 at the break and 49-20 at full time.
