A fine start excites MPs at EAC Parliamentary Games

Uganda continued their fine start at the ongoing 10th edition of the EAC Parliamentary Games with
victories in basketball, netball and football as the games entered their third day of competition.

This has given Uganda’s contingent hope that they finish top ofghe regional games. By press time, Uganda had won two netball games against Tanzania and Burundi, the latter who they also defeated 53-44 in basketball. The ladies volleyball team also triumphed over Burundi winning in yhree straight sets as men defeated Burundi 1-0 in football before a 5-0 white wash against Eala.

Muhammad Nsereko has been key, scoring the lone goal against Burundi and scoring a brace against Eala.

“We are really happy we have won most of our games and we know we can emerge champions,” said Ida Nabayiga the Kalangala women MP who participated in netball.

“As we play the games we make friends, come up with resolutions to ensure there is unity among East African countries,” she added.

Meanwhile Ishma Mafabi the youth MP from Eastern Uganda who was among the best performers in basketball called upon more Ugandan legislators to take part in consequent games.
