Kampala- As a sign of changing times at the club, Express held an official ceremony to unveil their midseason signings last week. The gesture while small showed the direction which the club is heading to under the stewardship of Kiryowa Kiwanuka.

There, however, remains a feeling that the improving organization off the pitch is yet to be fully matched by results on it.

And as the league second round starts this evening, Express will be looking to vastly improve their seventh place position when they travel to away to Fortportal to play unpredictable Tooro.

The situation seems not to be lost on coach Kefa Kisala who came under criticism from a section of the club’s fans as they played out a goalless draw against Ndejje university in their final game.

Kisala believes his side can get all three points despite playing a Tooro side that is one of the most experienced in the league. “I usually say that it’s all about managing the 90 minutes those things of they have not lost at home are history and history has no room in football. So we are going to handle the 90 minutes on that day very well we have to do all football related things well and we shall leave Tooro victorious,” Kisala told the club website.

He expects to have four of the club’s five new recruits available including striker Brian Umony who he confirmed will get playing time despite not playing competitively for the last six months.

They will however play a Tooro side that is unbeaten in their last six games that includes a penalty shootout victory over league KCCA at the Uganda Cup round of 32 stage last week.

Allan Kayiwa who scored in that game should be Tooro’s main attacking threat having scored six league goals in the first round.
At Lugogo, eighth placed Police will play host to second from bottom Nyamityobora in a game which will pit the teams with the worst defensive records in the league.

Police have conceded 26 goals, the highest number in the division and coach Abdallah Mubiru will hope the arrival of former Express defender Edgar Bwogi is the start of solving those defensive concerns.
