Kampala. Police has played arguably the most eye-catching football in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League this season.

But like in previous seasons when they have assembled decent squads, the ninth-placed Cops have been undone by delays in player remuneration. This largely owes to the institution’s policy of releasing money on a quarterly basis that sometimes sees players go more than three months without pay.

That situation could soon be improved greatly after they announced a partnership with Centenary Bank that will see the club get at least shs10m for the remainder of the season.
“Some of the biggest problems clubs in the premier league face is running day to day activities. So when we can get this partnership then the rest of our season will be fine,” club chairman and Police Chief Political Commissar, AIGP Asan Kasingye said at the unveiling.

Centenary Bank Managing Director Fabian Kasi believes the partnership is one that will grow owing to the two institutions’ reputations.
“We’ve worked together for a long time but thought we could add something different which is why we’ve come on board.I can assure this is going to be a long term partnership,” he assured.
