What you need to know:

Last Wednesday, during the tour of Ahly complex by foreign journalists, Gamal Gabr, the Media Officer of Africa’s club of the century, denied they were signing Desabre.

Tunisian top side, Etoile Sportive du Sahel are set to unveil Sebastien Desabre as their next coach to replace fellow Frenchman Roger Lemerre.
Sahel are currently without a coach following Lemerre’s decision not to renew his contract.
Lemerre, 78, won Euro 2000 and Fifa Confederations Cup in 2001 with France and the Africa Nations Cup title with Tunisia in 2004.

Desabre, 42, ended his three-year contract with Fufa by mutual consent on Saturday, a day after Cranes were eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations by Senegal 1-0. He will earn around Shs62m ($16,500) per month, which would be below what he has been getting at the Cranes; estimated at about Shs80m - 90m ($20,000-$25,000) per month.
Desabre is said to have been attracted by the lucrative bonus system and other extras, at the Tunisian giants.
He also views Tunisia as a step forward in his career. We could not independently ascertain further details of the deal.
Desabre took over from Serbian tactician Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic late 2017.

The Daily Monitor can report that the deal with ES Sahel was sealed during the early weeks of Afcon and on Wednesday last week an influential Tunisian broadcaster, Shems FM, leaked the news.
The same day, a source who knew about the deal confirmed to the Daily Monitor Desabre’s next move after Afcon. Twice in the press conference before and after the Senegal match, Desabre refused to accommodate questions regarding his future asked by Egyptian journalists. Talk was rife that Egyptian giants Al Ahly were eyeing his services. “Please let us respect this press conference, it’s about Uganda and Senegal,” Desabre stated during the post-match conference on Friday.
His departure sums up five-day drama when the Cranes players refused to train on Tuesday, before training late on Wednesday after a marathon of meetings.

Ahly denies Desabre deal
Last Wednesday, during the tour of Ahly complex by foreign journalists, Gamal Gabr, the Media Officer of Africa’s club of the century, denied they were signing Desabre.

“Our coach (Martín Lasarte) still has two years on his contract. We are happy with him,” Gabr said.
The Uruguayan joined the Egyptian side in December. Desabre is not new to Tunisian football as he coached Esperance de Tunis between November 2013 –September 2014.
