Desabre wants Cranes to vary approach tomorrow

Kampala. Cranes coach Sebastien Desabre appears to be one of the people that holds belief in the old adage of there being more than one way of skinning a cat.
That is the impression he gave as Cranes went through their drills in yesterday’s afternoon training session ahead of tomorrow’s 2019 Afcon fixture against Cape Verde at the Mandela National Stadium.
The 90 minute training session saw the 25-man squad partake in a variety of dead ball situations including freekicks, corner kicks and even penalties.

The Cranes who need a point from their remaining two qualification games have scored six goals in four of the 2019 Afcon qualifiers played thus far.
Two of those have come from dead ball situations with Farouk Miya scoring a penalty in the 3-0 home win over Lesotho.

He then scored a fine freekick for Cranes second goal in a 2-0 victory against the same opponents days later. He featured prominently in the drills yesterday alongside Vipers’ Moses Waiswa and the Egypt based Isaac Muleme.
Cranes left wingback Joseph Ochaya who was seen moving with a slight limp however trained separately from the rest of the squad with physical trainer Gerome D’Antonio. He has yet to feature for new side TP Mazembe since making the move to DR Congo side from Zambia.
There was however no clue on how the Cranes will lineup tomorrow in the absence of Emmanuel Okwi.
The striker who notched a brace in the 3-0 home win over Lesotho last month is suspended for the tie but is part of the squad that will play Nigeria in a friendly on next Tuesday.
Desabre however still has Edrisa Lubega, Derrick Nsibambi and Patrick Kaddu at his disposal with Allan Kateregga, who impressed away in Lesotho, also an option.
