The hotly anticipated Cecafa Kagame Cup quarterfinal between the Uganda Premier League champions KCCA and home side Rayon Sport in Kigali this afternoon is shaping up to be the a battle of the favourites and equals.
KCCA have courted a sizeable number of admirers at the ongoing tourney in Rwanda after exhibiting splendid football enroute to topping their group that also had defending champions Azam, Mukura and Bandari but the Rayon date seems to be a completely different challenge. Both teams are trying so much to get an edge and truth be told, they all have a reason to be considered the favourites. It promises to be a close one considering KCCA beat holders Azam and Rayon beat odds-on favourites TP Mazembe. KCCA deputy manager Morley Byekwaso exuded confidence ahead of the contest.
“We are not worried about playing them (Rayon Sport) despite the fact there are at home. We know how they play so this gives us the advantage to defeat them, “he noted. Byekwaso added: “It is going to be tough but we have a good side and we shall play better.”
