KCCA’s crowning moment

Kampala- If all goes according to the script, KCCA will hoist their 13th league trophy this afternoon with two matches to spare.
A festivity delay at the Arena of Visions in Bombo can’t be ruled out considering hosts Ndejje are also fighting for their lives but as KCCA’s latest 3-1 pounding of Express showed, the title is now theirs to lose.

Yet at KCCA’s backyard, second placed Vipers, nine points adrift with three matches left, will be praying for a capitulation of gargantuan magnitude by the leaders against Ndejje, Nyamityobora and Maroons for them to march to the title – if they beat Police, Paidha and Bul.

Needing just a point out of the possible nine, Mike Mutebi’s boys will be buoyed by the earlier 3-1 triumph against Ndejje at StarTimes Stadium and the fact they have straightforwardly walked all the last five teams.
“We hit form at the right time and we believe we can win all the remaining matches without looking at who is doing what elsewhere,” Mutebi revealed.

Ndejje gained a solid layer when experienced tactician Asuman Lubowa joined Raymond Komakech on the technical bench subsequently taming Vipers and Tooro United at home, but against a KCCA side that scores goals for fun – 52 so far – they will have to defend better than the 39 goals they have leaked and hope to increase on their appalling 22 goal tally.
