KAMPALA- There is only one quarterfinal slot still available in Group B of the Pepsi University Football League (UFL).

Kampala University (KU) can boost their chances of claiming that slot when they host St. Lawrence University at Villa Park this afternoon.
The two-time champions have six points, three ahead of nearest challengers Busitema with two games to play.

A win today consequently means progression remains in their hands before Nkumba play Busitema on Friday.

“We are not worried about how Nkumba and Busitema are playing because that is outside our control. If we win our remaining games we shall be assured of qualification and that is what we are focused on,” KU coach Vincent Tumusiime said.

“Against Nkumba we did very well to come from behind to win the game. That showed good technical and tactical discipline. We simply need to improve on our ball possession and movement,” Tumusiime said.

“St. Lawrence are a good team. They beat us 2-0 in the first round but we are prepared for them and I am sure we shall get a good result against them,” Tumusiime added.

However St. Lawrence University coach Nnono Ssozi says his team are not relaxed despite already being assured of progression after collecting 10 points from their four games.

“Against KU we shall be fielding our strongest team because we need to keep the momentum going into the knockout stage.”
