Kampala on redemption mission in Fufa Drum

It is unthinkable that Kampala province, laden with a host of Uganda Premier League stars and an experienced coach in Wasswa Bbosa, is languishing at the basement of Group A.
After three matches, last year’s quarterfinalists are yet to register a win or a draw in a tricky group that houses Tooro, Busoga and Rwenzori.
“Our mission is to win the next three matches and finish off with nine points and we believe it is possible,” Bbosa, also Tooro United coach told Daily Monitor yesterday.
Not only have they failed to earn victory but they have also scored just one goal in 260 minutes and conceding five in the process.
“We started poorly because of the league action that denied me access to players until the match day. We have gone back to the drawing board and promise to bounce back stronger,” Bbosa said after Kampala engaged regional side Katwe United in a friendly game yesterday at Lugogo.
With a revitalized attack force that now boasts of Tony Odur, Erisa Ssekisambu, Nelson Ssenkantuka and Martin Kizza, Bbosa thinks his side will be unstoppable against Charles Ayeikoh’s Busoga on tomorrow.
Because Tooro, Rwenzori and Busoga are all still tied at five points after three matches, Bbosa is of firm belief that they progress to the quarterfinals of the second edition of the provincial tourney.
Reigning champions Buganda will visit Ankole tomorrow at Kakyeka Stadium seeking to leapfrog David Obua’s Langi at group B summit. Acholi will be home and dry in group C if they manage to accrue maximum points against last season’s finalist West Nile at Pece Stadium.
