Kiboga eye Kitara revenge

Kampala. Felix Ssekabuuza says there is no need to remind any of the Kiboga Young players just how important today’s clash against Kitara is. Kiboga host Kitara for the first time in perfect form but there are fragments of enmity to which they want to exact revenge.
On a balmy May 29 evening at the StarTimes stadium Lugogo, Joel Ssekubunga Bbosa, the team founder, was rather relieved not only that his team, founded in 2002, had beaten Mp Allan Ssewanyana’s Katwe United for a place in the Big League, but rather his silent answer had been answered. Kitara had turned down an opportunity for a friendly asking for Shs800,000.
“They now have no options,” he said of a team that is 79kms away.
With a fine form (2 wins, 2 draws) going into the game, Ssekabuuza is ready to finish the job.
“Winning the derby is very important and the players know much better what that game means,” he said.
Breaching Kiboga’s defence has been the toughest job as they have conceded once in a 1-1 draw against Plascon. Their four goals have come from Isaac Otto and Peter Lomoro (two goals each).
“We prepared for a normal game but we have in our minds that this game is a little bit different for our fans,” he added.
Kitara, who have no coach since Sam Kawalya threw in the towel, will have Docker Magara in interim capacity, will be without injured striker Alex ‘Benzema’ Kitatta and midfielder Roger Milla Ahumuza.
Team CEO Joshua Atugonza said they are still focused on gaining direct promotion.
Both sides are tied on eight points with Kiboga having a game in hand.
Proline leads the Rwenzori group with 10 points but will not play until Sunday when they visit Kira. Thus the winner between Kitara and Kiboga has an opportunity to go top although any of Plascon and Kabale Sharp can go top with a win in their encounter at Bishop’s SS Mukono. History fancies Plascon, who won the corresponding game 3-0.
