Kimera left hurting by Mbarara’s dismissal

Kampala. Goalkeeper Ali Kimera admits was directly at fault for two of goals in SC Villa’s 2-1 victory over Mbarara City a fortnight ago at Namboole Stadium but he is saddened by the dreadful denunciation by the people he called his own.

Kimera’s gift of a goal to Ronald Magwali for Villa’s first goal and a parried effort into on-lashing Albert Mugisa’s path left many at Namboole bewildered and for this his career seems to be at crossroads at the moment.

After Mbarara City management rushed to expel him after the match, alongside the club’s goal keeping coach Yusuf ssenyonjo, Kimera chose to keep quiet but has now opened up to Daily Monitor in his first exclave interview.

“I can’t believe that the club treated me like that after fighting tooth and nail to keep them in the league last season and also drive them into the top four this season,” a crestfallen Kimera sad with a tinge of anger.

“They haven’t bothered to hear my side up to now and have acted arrogant towards me. This serves to tell me they had other ideas while sending me away because I have never been involved in betting matches.
“That terrible day, the night lights were hazy and you could hardly see the ball well, it had rained and the turf was slippery and yet I had just returned from a lengthy suspension and I was still building my confidence,” Kimera revealed.

His contract at the Kakyeka side runs out on June 3 and by that time Kimera hopes to have found a new work station although it still haunts him that he never got a fair hearing and his name is now soiled in syndicate talk. Like Mbarara City skipper Hillary Mukundane, Uganda Cranes and Mamelodi shot-stopper Denis Onyango leapt to Kimera’s defence, castigating the club for the haphazard dismissal.
