On paper, the Lango vs Bukedi Fufa Drum tourney semifinal clash this afternoon looks like a 50-50 affair that is even poised for any province to take.
The crucial ingredient is the venue - Akii Bua Stadium-Lira – that acts as Lango’s fortress at which they literally can’t lose a match.

Lango coach Dan Engwedo insinuated on their desire to count on the home turf to make their hundreds of fans cheerful and reward them for faithfully gracing their matches in droves.

“We want to win this tournament and we are looking at making it to the finals at all costs,” Engwedo revealed.

In playmaker Broson Nsubuga, goalkeeper Frank Oringa and striker Emmanuel Okwi, he has fundamental pillars in each department in his team to gain his wish. Bukedi, the tourney surprise package and perceived underdogs, will come into today’s match without pressure but with the ability to cause an unexpected upset.

Three-goal hero Fredson Gwoto and SC Villa midfield workhorse David Owori will spearhead Bukedi’s desperate quest to storm the finals for the first time.

The winner will join either Acholi or Bugisu that played yesterday at Pece Stadium. The finals of the provincial tourney, that will the winners bag Shs30m, will be played on Tuesday at a venue to be communicated by Fufa.
