Ndejje University, Katwe in victorious Big League starts

Ndejje University got off to a winning start in the Fufa Big League claiming a 2-1 home win over Nyamityobora in Luweero yesterday.

The match involving two of the three teams that were relegated from the topflight division saw Richardson Asaba score both goals for the university side to go joint top of the Rwenzori Group.

They are level with Kabale Sharp who also recorded a similar score from their visit to Luzira where they defeated Water.

Former topflight sides
Another former top tier side UPDF were also victorious claiming a 1-0 away win over Doves.

In the Elgon Group, newly promoted Katwe left Lugogo with maximum points after Abdu Ssemwogerere’s 73rd minute strike gave them a 1-0 win over visiting Light SS. With both teams struggling to create clear-cut goal scoring opportunities and lacking composure in the final third, it took a cross cum-shot from Ssemwogerere to with the defender’s effort wrong footing the Light SS goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, the game between Paidha Black Angels and Kataka at the Bar Okoro Ground in Zombo was washed out after 40 minutes with the game still goalless.

Myda were also away victors in the Elgon Group after downing Kiboga Young 1-0. Aziz Damani Doves start their campaign today.
