Ouma, Golola rapport key ahead of CS Sfaxien duel

The only remaining hindrance in Vipers’ revival campaign is determining who of Michael Ouma and Edward Golola - the new coaches in charge - weilds the ultimate authority over the team’s direction.
As Vipers rediscovered their midas touch in the 3-0 humbling of Onduparaka on Tuesday, Golola’s tactical impact could be felt from a distance yet officially the Kenyan remains the head coach.
Ouma acknowledged the value of their relationship ahead of a mouthwatering Caf Condeferation Cup encounter with Tunisian giants Sfaxien on Saturday at St Mary’s Stadium - Kitende.
“I haven’t known him that much in the two or three days we have worked together.
“It is like having to study your girlfriend for sometime before you finally fall in love,” Ouma revealed on Tuesday.

“We are new coaches trying to lift the team and we hope the players can get our instructions fast,” he added.
“I have changed the team’s mentality and told them to be offensive.
“We have done our reaserch about Sfaxien and we are ready for the game.”
Goals by Dan Sserunkuma, Geoffrey Wasswa and Livingstone Mulondo’s first for the club just typified the sleeping giant Vipers has been lately and what they can offer on a good day - the exact impetus they needed ahead of Saturday’s tie that puts them on the brink of qualifying for the lucrative group stages.
