What you need to know:

In his absence, KCCA manager Mike Mutebi has resorted to new signing Keziron Kizito to pull the proverbial strings in the midfield as they staged a mini revival in the league but sadly like John Odumegwu, John Revita and Erisa Sekisambu, he (Kizito) is not registered to play at this stage.

KAMPALA. The familiarity with North African clubs over the last three seasons has erased any trace of Maghreb fear from most of KCCA players. On his return to full fitness after a five-game injury layoff, industrious midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba is oozing with confidence that they have what it takes to eject Algerian side Paradou over two legs and hit the Shs2b Caf Confederation Cup group jackpot.
“We have now got over the Caf Champions League miss (eliminated by Angolan side Petro de Luanda) and we are focusing on getting to the group stage come what may,” Mutyaba told Daily Monitor yesterday.

Mutyaba has been part of the KCCA side that stormed the Caf Confederation Cup group stages and also failed to achieve the same last year at the hands of Congo Brazzaville giants Otoho. “We watched some Paradou video clips and they didn’t look frightening at all. We are going to use our home advantage to see that we get a big win,” Mutyaba added.
Mutebi will still miss the services of Sadam Juma, Eric Senjobe and Julius Poloto put can look to the lively form of Mike Mutyaba, Sadat Anaku and Allan Okello to draw first blood at their StarTimes Stadium fortress where they have only lost to Esperance (though match was at Namboole). Paradou coach Francisco Chaló warmed up to this weekend’s clash with 1-0 away win over MC Oran but that did little to uplift their league woes that see them rooted at the bottom of the table after seven matches.
According to the match organisers, the first batch of Paradou contingent will arrive in Kampala this afternoon and then the second batch will arrive tomorrow. ESwatini match officials Thulani Sibandze, Sifiso Nxumalo and Petros Mzikayifani Mbingo will handle the first leg tie at StarTimes Stadium.
