Police FC face fading Express

A sequence of one win in six games has left fans’ patience with coach George Ssimwogerere running thin.

That could descend into a full revolt this evening should Express fail to put up a decent performance when they host Police at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium this evening in the sole StarTimes Uganda Premier League fixture.

The Red Eagles go into the game fourth from bottom and with little sign of progress despite Ssimwogerere’s assertions this week that they used the recent two-week break to improve the team’s defending and attacking.

His team went on to lose 2-1 to Proline despite taking the lead through captain Disan Galilwango.

They now play a Police team that is in its ascendancy after picking their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Kyetume midweek.

The result made it three games without defeat for the Abdallah Mubiru coached side after draws against SC Villa and Mbarara.

They also used the recent league break to finalize their player registration with the returning Hood Kaweesa and Dennis Rukundo featuring for the first time this season against Kyetume.

Despite the upturn in form they are still second from bottom, two places below Express after they were docked three points for failing to honour their opening fixture against Onduparaka.

Ruben Kimera, Johnson Odong and Pius Kaggwa all integral to their free flowing game last season are yet to hit top gear.

Express on the other hand go into today’s fixture without first choice goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga and right back Emmanuel Baffoe.
