Police engage KCCA as Express seek consistency

Kampala. KCCA will be looking to increase their lead at the top of the StarTimes Premier League when they play Police at Lugogo that is home to both teams.
Both teams have built a reputation of playing on the front foot and KCCA manager Mike Mutebi believes they can attain the desired result in a manner that will also leave fans entertained.
“Both teams play the kind of football fans want to watch. We, however, think we are better in terms of the quality of players. So that gives us hope that we can win by many goals. That is what the fans want to see,” he said in the pre-match press conference.
Recent statistics appear to back his argument with the last six league games between the two teams producing 25 goals. Nine were scored in the previous game that ended in a 6-3 KCCAtriumph.
“We are well prepared. Confidence is high because we have not lost in about two months. We also no longer have injury worries so there is big competition for places which is a good dilemma for us coaches,” he added.
KCCA have 44 points from 19 games, six more than Vipers who held a two point advantage Mbarara before the latter played Onduparaka.
Police are eighth with 27 points and their recent form suggests they have improved defensively conceding one goal in their last four games.
This was after a change to their central defensive partnership with Edgar Bwogi and and Joseph Sentume replacing Sadat Kyambadde and Ibrahim Kibumba.
Elsewhere Express host Maroons with coach George Ssimwogerere taking charge of his fourth game.
The first ended in a 1-0 defeat away to Bul but the Wankulukuku faithful have now seen their team finish defeat Nyamityobora 2-0 while they also triumphed against Police on penalties in the Uganda Cup.
