KAMPALA. Winning Masaza Cup three years ago was a huge achievement for Masaka based team Buddu.
The former Cranes midfielder Steven Bogere back then, guided them to that lucrative trophy at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole before he was shown exit door in 2017.
Since his dismissal, political wars infiltrated the team, several players and his successor Simon Mugerwa left and currently, Bogere who was referred to as a hero in 2016 has turned into a coward.

Early beginnings
Ahead of this season, Buddu through their chairman Ali Matovu returned Bogere on a one year contract worth Shs6m and it was a subect of revision in case of any progress.
Bogere, 53, was all smiles too upon returning to a team he had always called home before Buddu county chief Vincent Mayiga changed the tide and terminated his contract.

“I heard that Mr Mayiga accused me of disrespecting him. To me those are political wars from people who have conflict of interest in the team. What I know is that I respect him with all my heart and I don’t know how he came up with such allegations,” the soft-spoken Bogere told Sunday Monitor.
“I’ve always been loyal to that team ever since they signed me in 2015. If he accused me anyway, I would have expected him to settle those misunderstandings with me than terminating my contract drastically,” he added.

Since Masaza Cup kicks off next week, today Mayiga is expected to unveil a new team at Masaka Recreation with a fresh coach instead in Livingstone Mbabazi.
Mbabazi, 38, who has worked with teams; Onduparaka and Mbarara City FC in Star Times Uganda Premier League is expected to start a new era and exercise his expertise at Buddu team that lost the trophy last year to Singo.
